Yesterday we got out of bed and went downstairs for breakfast. I opened the curtains to find SNOW!! Lydia was so excited. She said "Is it Christmas?" And wanted to go out and play right away. We ate breakfast and got our snow gear on with an impatient Lydia telling everyone else to hurry because she thought it was going to stop. We finally got out there by 8:00 or 8:30am. It was a fun morning activity. Lindy didn't last very long, maybe ten minutes. She ended up inside watching a movie with a snack. Just like her last snow experience she just wanted to eat the snow and her hands got cold and wet quite fast. We built a baby snowman and Lydia didn't think that was good enough so then we made a "little girl snowman" which also wasn't big enough. So we made another snowman with two middles. She still wanted to make a bigger one, but we had run out of snow by then. Liza lasted till the "little girl snowman" and wanted to join Lindy. I of course got to continue to play with Lydia. I'll tell you what, rolling a snowball that is only about 10 inches high while 7 months pregnant, is such a joy. :) We had a lot of fun, and I'm glad we got to play in the snow. It was pretty much melted by 11:00 except for our two snowmen. It looked kinda funny with the green grass and two snowman right in the middle of the yard. Today we have two half snowmen. Lydia checks on them regularly to tell me the melting status.

We had such a nice Christmas season this year. Milas took the whole week off before Christmas and we just spent it doing whatever we wanted together. We played, we were sick, we were a bit lazy, we had a nice week. It was a challenge getting back to our usual schedule without Dad around after he had to go back to work, but we managed. This was our first year spending Christmas here in Vegas with just our little family. We missed our families of course, but we LOVED being here at home. It was so nice. We had a lot of fun this year, I think a lot of that is because Lydia was so excited about every little thing, and Liza fed off of that. Christmas is so much fun with little kids. I love Christmas time and was able to spend a lot more time this year; because we were home, to think about Christmas and feel the Christmas spirit and what it really is all about. We are blessed with so much and are ever so grateful for our Savior and all that we are blessed with and that we have been blessed with a knowledge of him and all that he has done for us. It was a nice to put away all the Christmas stuff away but sad too, we joked about keeping it up all year, it's not a bad a idea just to keep reminding us of all that Christmas brings. maybe next year. :)
We set up all our Christmas decor as soon as Thanksgiving was all put away. It was fun to pull everything out. My mom gives the girls a Christmas book every year so we sat and read Christmas books. It was fun. I had a really nice display of Christmas books this year. Lindy has still been pointing up to the shelf where I had them concerned where the books went. She says "where'd it go? ho ho ho" Her favorite book was a book that would sing "Up On The House Top".
We enjoyed watching all our Christmas movies and the favorite was Frosty the Snowman.
We decorated gingerbread houses. Well, Lydia decorated the house, Liza added a few and Lindy was the taste tester. We made sure to not eat any candy off that house. Lindy would put one in her mouth and take it out and put it on the house, or she would dip a piece of candy in the frosting and then eat it. Sugar sugar sugar. So happy!
On Christmas eve day we went up to Mt. Charleston to go sledding. It is only a 20-30 minute drive to see the snow and they had just gotten a ton of it, so we went to enjoy the snow. Lydia asked me multiple times when it was going to snow, because Santa couldn't come till it did. It wasn't likely that that wasn't going to happen so we went to snow. Lydia is my snow girl, she loves the snow and would play in it forever. Liza wasn't sure and Lindy just liked to eat it, which made her hands cold.
yes those are bags on Lydia's feet. :D she didn't have boots. Hey, it kept her feet dry. And she thought it was funny, she called them her bag boots. The only problem is traction. She had a hard time climbing the snow hill, but still had fun.
On Christmas Eve the girls got to open their Christmas pajamas. They were so giddy!! It was hard to get a good picture because they wouldn't stop bouncing around.
Christmas morning came with excited little girls. I would love to wake up to that excited of kids everyday, well I would if it was after 7:00 am at least. Lydia asked for roller skates and got them, Liza asked for a "pink car", which she got, and Santa didn't enjoy putting together, Lindy has no idea but was happy with a doll and Liza's pink car. I swear I took a pict. of Liza with her car, but can't seem to find it. She got a princess cozy coupe.
